Hello, I just found this site via a sticker on the back of a car!

I am not a Ford owner, but I'm hoping to become one soon. I am interested in 80's Fords, particularly two door Sierras. A legit Cossie would be my dream but for now, in the current climate, I'm aiming for an XR4i or a well-stocked Cossie rep. I'm also quite partial to a Mk1 Granada Coupe and even love a nicely turned out Scorpio if its got the right poise about it.

Anyway, having found the forum I thought I'd join and see what advice anyone might have, also find out who out there shares my love of Sierra two doors.

Cheers,

welcome, most if not every 1 on here likes the sierra laugh i've never owned a 3dr but always liked them.
best bit of advice is look every where for rust, especialy on the 4i as they are knocking on abit in years and are going up in price you dont want to spend alot and find its rusty underneath, saying that tho rust makes the car lighter so its faster  laugh laugh

Well, it really depends on the rust.
Current research suggests that damp rust ways significantly more than ordinary metal.
Dry rust is lighter, but it snags lots of fluff and so affects the drag co-efficiency.

Swings and roundabouts really. Thanks for the advice... I've looked at a couple over the last few months, even travelled up to Darlington (I'm in Hove) to look at one but got cold feet: Something to do with it not having any paperwork at all and the bloke selling it not able to recollect where he got it from even though he claimed he'd only had it two weeks hahaha.

And yes, by two door, I did of course mean three door... ooops = )

I only told half the story... the sticker was on the back of a car advertised on Pistonheads. Blue Sierra 3door...

I tired the url out to see if I could get any more info on the car, then I decided that this is exactly the sort of place I should be a member of as I dip my toes into the world of older Ford ownership.

Most of them on here are from the South East, but considering that fact, they are not too bad Tongue
