Hi peeps,

This is a project in progress by a mate of mine. It's going to be a sort of demo-cruiser for his business (mainly metal plating/polishing).

He bought the P100 off a farmer 2 years ago as it has a reasonably rot-free and straight body. Only had 46k too.
Then he bought an H-reg XR4x4 2.9i and had that stripped by someone else and delivered.
Low mileage BOB Scorpio bought as a donor, in parts again delivered to the workshop.
The BOB was purchased mainly because it's a more handsome looking engine plus not many out there.

Everything will be painted, polished or powder coated. All bolts are replaced where necessary with new high tensile s/s ones.
All new parts are sourced where possible - lights, tank, glass, interior parts, grommetts etc...

Firstly, the P100 was stripped, and the 1.8 TD engine ditched.

Then the body lifted off and chassis primed whilst the XR4x4 rear end properly installed.

engine bay and arches were then stripped back to bare metal, prepped and primed, with the engine bay receiving a respray in the chosen body colour of Ford Performance Blue.

oh, front wings were sourced as a bargain and the XR4x4 donor front door fitted too.

interior was then Dynomatted - real difference!!!

next, spent a week rubbing down the gearbox and lightly blasted the transfer box and diff casing.
gearbox painted Performance Ford Blue too!

crossmember was then de-greased and blasted......

and then polished, with the recon rack and associated bits painted and vibra-technics mounts attached...

engine has been checked and all ok - rockers painted PF Blue too, with inlet manifolds blasted then highly polished.
various brackets etc linished, polished then zinc plated too

sump attached with return pipes all sorted.

the plenum plastic cover was then rubbed down smooth and airbrush-painted.....

nothing bolted down finally yet though, just resting on there until the engine/box etc  is installed....

new pas bottle and bracket sourced as well as coolant bottle

AVO coilover front suspension ready to go on, as are huge brakes with all refurbed calipers, lines, bushes, hubs, bearings etc.

After waiting for a complete BOA loom and ECU for 9/10 months (which has held up much of the build) from a promised source, gave up and sourced it ourselves.
Was going for tubular manifolds too, but again the source was same as the loom and nothing materialised after the same amount of time.......
Sticking with the standard ones for now, which with the heat shields, look ok anyway

peak style dash has been sourced, together with a rare brand new RS steering wheel and hub.

black door cards are at the trimmers at the moment, as are the super-rare Rouse Sport 304-R leather Recaros, which are being treated to a proper Nappa leather retrim.

more pics to follow!

few pics of some parts that have been blasted, polished then zinc/colour plated...just to show the sort of detail that is going into it

door catches

these plates go by the headlamps

this is obviously an engine eye.....all bolts as mentioned before are new or refinished and polished.

pic of the new header tank and pas bracket & tank

and his really nice and rare RS steeering wheel - again, new old stock with correct boss

otherwise we extended the TPS sensor wire using proper wires and insulation, so that's all nicely done. Just a few more bits on the wiring then  the engine/box etc will be going in and the front suspension can be built up. All being done after hours at his workshop due to the sudden uptake in business, which help obviously.

He does polish a whole host of stuff  - his username is Lewry6453 if you check out eBay.......

not much of an update - the wiper motor is new and the mechanism has been carefully blasted and painted.

some custom laser-cut aluminium bits for the custom exhaust, with custom milled recesses for the gaskets. These are quality!

He's just polished up the 2WD BOA engine arm mounts and the finish is unreal!!!
