I had been looking into Engine mounts for the XR4i/XR4x4 ,they will also fit Mk1 Pinto. Have sourced some from Chuck W in the States.

These work so well mounts for othere engine set ups were looked at, Chuck already made mounts for his 2.9 rwd which are few and far between over here

So we looked at mounts for the 24V going rwd and again he came up with a excellent set

Heres some pic's of them fitted on the 24V, easy fit.

Moving on from these he can now do them for the 2.0 DOHC and is working on the 2.0 Cosworth ones. He is also working on uprated gearbox mounts

They are as said really good mounts and at a really good price, shipped straight to you from the states.

For further details and prices contact Chuck by email:  turbo_cw@hotmail.com

Yeah but for up todate price email Chuck, they were £86 a pair through your letter box for the 4x4 ones and £126 I think for the 24V ones

Now looks like the 4 pot cossie ones are sorted now as well

Quote
Well, things have been topsy-turvy in my life as of late but I FINALLY have all the CAD work done for the 2WD Cossie (Type 10) and Twink  (Type 11) mounts.

I'll let that fact settle with you folks for a bit and see what kind of interest/response there is before I rush out and order laser pieces and other raw materials.

Pricing will be the same as the Type 5's

No pics of anything as of yet, but it is a pretty clean design in the end and will look snazzy  Wink

Well Taps, after our email I decided to hop on over and register.

You are correct on the pricing at £85/shipped for the Type 7's and and £125/shipped for the Type 5's.

Once I sort out an order with my laser cutter I will be putting together a small number of the new mounts that Taps mentioned (the Type 10 (2WD Cossie) and Type 11 (Twinky)).  Pricing on those will be the same as the Type 5's for now.

Also I have one gearbox mount to replace most of the ones used on the non-4x4 cars.  Once Taps and I sort out a few details on those, I will have the 4x4 one available as well. The non-4x4 mount would run about £50/shipped by itself and about £30 with a set of engine mounts.

I'll sort out more details in the near future for those interested, and if there is any interest in the Type 10 and 11's let me know.

Thanks
Chuck

Thanks Taps.

I went ahead an got the ball rolling on parts for a few Type 10 and Type 11's.  Hopefully in a couple weeks I can have the parts on hand to start welding.

Well it looks like I'll have some laser parts by the end of the next week.  I guess the laser cutter is pretty backed up.

No one has been beating the door down on the new types, so I'll probably just stick a couple sets together and see what's what.

On another note, I have decided to redo pricing in USD.  It's easier than trying to keep up with exchange rates, etc.

New pricing will be as follows:

Type 5, 10, 11 - $165USD
Type 7 - $90USD

Shipping on average to the UK and Europe runs $38-45USD via USPS, and I will get you a quote when you order.

Ok, well I put together a pair of the Type 10 (2WD Cossie) arms this morning.

The Type 11 (Twinky) mounts will be of the same concept with the obvious differences in block plates and length, etc.

Obviously these aren't coated yet.

If there's any interest, shoot me an email (cwarren@indy.net). I need to get some bushings ordered for some other mounts, so I'd like to include any orders for these with that to avoid any additional delays.  ETA of shipping availability would be 2-3 weeks while I finished up welding, coated them and wait for the bushings to show up.

If you think you're interested in a set let me know as I'm ordering bushings tomorrow for some other orders, but will only have a couple extra onhand.  If you wait until they are all coated, etc you may wind up waiting longer for bushings as I'm only going to order what I need for confirmed orders.

Not a problem Taps, whenever you get to it.

I'm still trying to get someone to give me the info on the block hardware for the Cossie mounts.  I'm guessing they 8MM-1.25 thread, but no one has confirmed it.

Well bolts it shows with the arms are M8x35mm, dont say what thread pitch it is although its not metric fine I know that much, would be the same as the thread pitch of the v6 ones I'd have thought

Well it's pretty obvious that the hardware on the Cossies is smaller than the rest, even those used on the Twinks.  The holes in the arms are only about 9mm in dia, where as the others are 11MM (and use 10mm hardware).  They use 4 bolts instead of 3, so that may have a bit to do with it as well.

I'm going to guess they are the 1.25 pitch thread.

Of course now that I have these things done, the US dollar is stronger than it's been vs the Pound and the Euro in months.

If you're interested in some mounts, shoot me an email and I'll see what I can do.
