Out of the blue, as I never thought the owner would sell, I've been offered another XR that I've been eyeing up for years.

Anyway, buying this one means that I’ll regrettably have to sell on the 2i.  I really don’t want to sell it, and never had any plans to but this one is too good an opportunity to let pass by.  I realistically can’t keep the two, I’ve tried before and it always means having to leave one outside and both cars here are far too good to leave either of them outside.

Details of the 2i are as follows:
Registered 27/1/94, but built in May 1993.  Its one of the last 2i’s before the change over to Si’s.  Its first owner had it from new until July 2004, and the 2nd owner (a fellow Scottish XROC branch member) sold it to me in October 2008.

It had full Ford Service history up until I bought the car, I refuse to use my local Ford dealer as they truly are a waste of time, so I use a garage that I’ve used and trusted for years instead, so it still has a full, fully stamped service history.  It was fully serviced (at the same time as its MOT) in December where all the filters were changed, plugs were changed, brake fluid and coolant etc were changed.

The car’s MOT is due again in January 2011, and it’s taxed until January 2011.

Its current mileage is 93000, which for a 16 year old car is extremely low in my opinion.

History and documentation wise, all of the original handbooks are present in their “Ford Cares” leather wallet, as mentioned the service book is fully stamped up.  I however only have the historic MOT’s back to 2003, and receipts etc back to the same period, although there is still quite a comprehensive history there.

One key still operates everything, and both original keys (plus the optional Ford Credit Card Key) are present.  The torch even still works on the main key!

The interior is immaculate I’d go as far as to say that it’s like stepping into a brand new car.  The velour and carpets have a fantastically deep pile on them.  The original Ford 2006R RDS Radio Cassette with removable panel is still present and in fantastic working order.  Genuine Ford rubber contoured mats are also fitted.

The exterior is also immaculate, even round the petrol cap is corrosion free.  The car is currently fitted with spare steel wheels (c/w 4 new tyres and the correct original wheel trims).  This is for the winter only whilst the car is off the road for the winter whilst it’s standing in the garage.  The original alloys are present, and are currently boxed in my loft as they were fully refurbished by Pristine Alloys a few months back.  They too have 4 x new tyres waiting to be fitted to them.  The car is fitted with rare Ford headlamp covers too.  As you will see, I changed the repeaters to the clear equivalents, but do have the original ones to go back in if required.

Under the bonnet is clean, however under bonnet cleaning is not my specialist subject, but it wouldn’t take much to get it pristine.  I have fitted a few Auto Specialists stainless parts under the bonnet, but have all the originals stored away if required.

It is a fantastic drive, it has never missed a beat in the time I've owned it, it got my wife and I down to Ford Fair from Aberdeen (round trip of 1k) in comfort and with no issues.  I've always used V power in it, and fuel wise I'm always getting a minimum of 280-300 miles out of a tank.

All in all, I think its one of the best 16v 2i’s still around.  I think the pictures will speak for themselves.  I only have an interior shot from when I first bought it, but can get more if required (they might not be the best though since the car is garaged).  As I said, this is a truly reluctant sale therefore I’m hoping it goes to a good home.

If you feel I’ve missed anything, please feel free to ask any questions!
