Had an email from Jessica about the Duxford shows for 2011

Quote
Dear all

I am pleased to announce that IWM Duxford will again hold two car & motorbike shows in 2011:

the Spring Car Show on Sunday 1 May

and

the Summer Car Show on Sunday 7 August.

This year's shows attracted again over 500 cars each, even though the weather was not always in our favour. We very much look forward to seeing you in 2011, and hope that some of you may take part in our new arena display at our Summer Car Show. This will be a special arena display for particularly rare and interesting cars, especially those with an interesting history or unusual role, accompanied by an experienced commentator.

The admission rate for exhibitors will remain at £9.50 per person, and you will still have access to the whole of the Museum and get a designated club area.

If you are interested to come along to one of the shows, please do let me know and I will send you a booking form.

If you would like to invite traders, please do let me know as well to discuss this is more detail.

I look forward to hearing back from you.

Have a good Christmas.

Kind regards

Jessica

The second one in August is the same date as Fordfair, after last years crap Fordfair as far as I was concerned I will most likely be doing Duxford this year, Fordfair lot have taken the piss for far to long and far to often IMO

Your views on that subject welcome.

Count us in for Duxford in May.
Ford Fair was a sham last year.
I'll see if mate is bringing his XR4 and get back to you.
When do you want payment?
Cheers

I am not expecting to attend Duxford now on May 1st now as I have a sci-fi show to attend instead in which I need an autograph from Kenny Baker for my full size R2-D2 (going on it's head/dome).

But I hope to go to the August show instead.

Sorry about the change of plan but Kenny doesn't do that many shows these days due to his health, so I need to get him while I can. Buzz Aldrin and Andy Green are also at the same event: http://autographica.co.uk/

Kids 15 or under go free: http://duxford.iwm.org.uk/server/show/conEvent.3537 I am now planning to go to Duxford now as Autographica has been postponed to Oct.

I've just noticed the following weekend (May 8th) is a Ford only event. http://duxford.iwm.org.uk/server/show/conEvent.3613

Anyone been to this or is it a new thing?
