Hi,

Had a few spare hours yest morning. Thought I'd try a colour our on frankenstein. Was just gonna try a wing, but got carried away and did one wing a door and the bonnet.

All masked and sanded

Done.

Not bad for 2 hours from thinking about it to being done! lol

Will get some better outside pictures today. I think colour is well nice and suits it. Its a pearlescent dark metallic grey

Thanks! Had the mundane task of flatting and compounding today. Still needs work, but nearly there

All unwrapped n dry

Initial 600grit flatting. Carefully avoiding the edges with the rough stuff

Wet n dried 1500 all over, then 3000 and compound

Buffed out. Still a little foggy in places but back was aching. Its a big frikkin bonnet! lol

Outside pics tomorrow hopefully, it's pishing down now outside

Well, the sun is out at last. So some outside pics for you to enjoy/rip apart lol

Finally from the seat, out the screen n down the bonnet

Overall I'm happy considering the amount of time and effort gone into it. I'm really liking the colour. Think it suits it a lot.

That looks like a superb job.
If you think that bonnets long, i hope it wont put you off doing ours  Tongue
It is refreshing to see a car painted without the built in orange peel effect as seen on all production cars.
Cheers

cheers. Gonna be a while till whole car is one colour im afraid. Lots of work needed and a few spares before I strip it completely. Needs a whole front valance as mine it pretty much all filler! lol. Needs a new roof lining and gotta take all the windows out to replace that. Only really wanna do that the once really as it needs new window rubbers too.

Tango doesn't do orange peel - he knows what he's doing. Nice job mate. The colour suits it. (informative bit)

Being as your name is derived from the colour of your cars, you may have to change your name from Tango to Pearlescent. I think it suits you  Grin (constructive bit)
