Taps is having internet issues at the moment, or I know for a fact he would have been the thread starter here, so I can safely say he agrees with our sentiments on his behalf.
2 minutes of our time is the least we can do for these guys given their sacrifices, nice to see I'm not alone on this one  Cool

Do you know what, even the Wheeler Dealers gave 2 mins silence today during their live show at the NEC. I saw that on their itinery board yesterday, and thought that was a nice gesture.

I was watching the Cenotaph today on TV. Three years ago I was part of the precession. I felt privaliged to be surrounded by veterans. It was a very humbling experience.

I bought my Poppy from an old boy plotted up in our local Tesco, after sticking every loose coin I had in the tin, he said "thankyou young man", my reply of "No, thankYOU sir" seemed just not enough.

it is such a shame that so many people, and companies these days don't  have the decency to show the respect that our true heros deserve.

I echo that. It makes me sick. One guy I know misses the point entirely and says he 'doesn't agree with war'. Well I don't think any of us actually want to kill each other etc but you can still show your respect for those that have given us our way of life today with their sacrifice. We an idiot he is. Makes me really angry.  Angry

Exactly Laurie, in an ideal world we would all love to never see another armed conflict, but it wont happen, and its those people standing on mines and in front of bullets that afford muppets like that guy the luxury of being able to stand (relatively these days!) safe in a conflict free land and have the choice of not agreeing with war.
I bet a great deal of troops in WW1 and WW2 didnt agree with war either, but neither were they going to allow this land to be invaded and plundered by an unhinged dictator. So to war they went, and die many of them did. And here we stand as a result of their actions.
I happily spit on anyone who wont mark the 2 minutes silence, wether they agree or not, if you live in this free country, you owe those people your thanks for doing so.
