why do so many of our IP`s get blocked though - is it intentional or a fault of some sort?

The provider for Fordpower say they have there own servers, it was found out this was not the case, having spoken to bods in this field and explaining whats happening, they have all said that the provider is blocking IP's in order to cut there bandwidth as they are using other peoples servers. certain groups of IPs are effected more then others as the likes of NTL/Virgin use blocks of IP's not individuel IPs for each user
Changing IP works for getting over this but it only works for a short time before they block your new IP.
The problem has been on there for a very long time, until Tony changes provider it will stop as it is, basically the provider they have is shite, they have got problems transferring it to a new provider as the version of BB is not compatible with the newer versions now being used and the original files of the BB have been lost or never kept, The whole lot was very nearly lost when the provider managed to wipe the data base when making changes to there end, not helped by the fact that back ups of the site were not being done on a regular basis by Tony, when it went down the latest back up he had was 6 months old and that turned out to have a virus, not good to say the least, and it was lucky that after him giving them so much shite over the phone they came up with an up to date back up.
Its all such a shame as both him and me put a bloody lot of work into that site and in the end I'd just had enough of not being able to get onto my own site. The problem is growing and people will end up the same and not bother with a site they cant get on, I really hope he manages to sort out the problems once and for all as it will be a great shame to see it go the way of other BB's and just die off.

Personaly I don't see an issue ripping the site to another hoster, but never got a reply as to what the actual sistuation is so can't realy help. Not sure if it's because the current host has crap file management or what.
So I am just keeping things in order where I can.
It is a real shame.
I Guess FordFair next year is more likly to be PBF than FPUK.. Don't fancy joining the Galaxy crew...

No luck yet unless being lucky isnt selling it You`ll have seen it ebay, trying one last time but I dont hold out much hope although I`m prepared to accept alot less than I wanted 2-3 months ago but we`ll have to see...
